About the Author

Charis McRoy has been writing since she was nine.  She first experimented with different forms of poetry, and had two poems published by 2014. One of those poems, “The Colors of the Rainbow,” resulted in her being one of the Top 10 Winners of the Spring 2014 collection of poetry produced by Creative Communication. Over time, she shifted her focus from writing poetry to penning stories. In 2019, while she was still in high school, her first book, A Peek Inside Esther’s Diary was published.

Since then, McRoy has served as a monthly columnist for Guide Magazine, a Christian magazine geared towards tweens, and has contributed on occasion to Message Magazine, one of the oldest Black Christian magazines standing today. She hopes to be a source of inspiration to readers of all ages, but particularly to teenagers and young people her age.
